5th Annual Chris LeDoux Spurs and Spikes Memorial Golf Tournament
The 5th Annual Chris LeDoux Spurs and Spikes Memorial Golf Tournament will be held July 8th and 9th, 2011 at The Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, WY. The two day event will include a practice round, barbecue and auction, in addition to the four-person scramble golf tournament. The Spurs and Spikes will be held in conjunction with the Sheridan WYO Rodeo as part of the PRCA rodeo's ten-day celebration.
The Chris LeDoux Spurs and Spikes Memorial Golf Tournament began in the summer of 2007 as a fundraiser for the Chris LeDoux Memorial Foundation. The foundation was established by the LeDoux family after the loss of the singer-song writer and World Champion Bareback Rider, Chris LeDoux. All of the money raised goes directly to the Chris LeDoux Memorial Foundation which is helping to construct the Chris LeDoux Memorial Park in Kaycee, Wyoming. The park is home to a life size and ¼ "Good Ride Cowboy" bronze sculpture by D. Michael Thomas. Along with construction of the park, the foundation supports various charities, including the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, a fund set up to help injured rodeo athletes and their families in need.
